Cloud computing still shines at the top of nearly every hype cycle. The concept of IT infrastructure as a commodity - paying-for-what-you-use and hardware scaling according to your needs - is indeed very appealing. However, the adoption of cloud computing in enterprises involves a lot of new challenges: technical (like network partitioning, security, cloud development ...) as well as organisational. This talk treats both sides of the coin with a clear focus on government institutions and their particular legal context.
This seminar will be held at wednesday March 24th and will be presented by Johan Loeckx.
Johan Loeckx received the M. Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 2003 and the M. Sc. degree in Artificial Intelligence in 2004. He worked toward his Ph. D. degree as a Research Assistant at the ESAT-MICAS Laboratory of the same university. Since 2009, he is fully employed as a Research Consultant at Smals, the e-government enabler for health care and social services in Belgium.
